Ulthuan, Naggaroth and Lustria - Total War: Warhammer 2

These are In engine shots taken from Total War: Warhammer 2 - Mortal Empires Campaign map. These shots include the isle of Ulthaun, the ancestral home of the Elven race, currently inhabited by the High Elves. To the west lie the largely uncharted jungles of Lustria, considered to be the rightful domain of the Lizardmen race. North of Lustria are the desolate lands of Naggaroth, home to the unforgiving Dark Elves.

Tasks in which I contributed included asset creation (mountains, ship models, city peices.etc), terrain textures, prefab decoration (city decoration and general assets), lighting and map decoration.

Ulthuan forms a hollow ring of land, surrounding an inner sea. This inner sea is accessible only at the Straits of Lothern, in the south of the island.

The Great Vortex is a vast magical maelstrom created by the High Elves as a means to absorb all the excess magic within the world and banish the Daemons of Chaos. Ulthuan is spanned by a network of waystones, menhirs that channel the Winds of Magic.

The White Tower is visible tens of miles away, a sharp white needle thrusting up into the sky. Its approaches are guarded by rings of illusion, which mean only those people whom the Loremasters want to approach the Tower may find the true path towards it.

The provinces of Ulthuan are generally separated into the Inner Kingdoms, which have part or all of their coast on the inner sea, and the Outer Kingdoms, which face the great ocean.

In the 'Land of Chill' otherwise known as Naggorth, the Dark Elves build huge plantations to feed the cities by slaves who labour until they drop dead, their bodies left to nourish the barren soil.

The innumerable towers of the Dark Elves are built from black stone, rising like sinister pinnacles into the dark storm clouds. All of these cities are evil places, steeped in death and agony.

Naggaroths northern plains are barren and windswept expanses, broken only by jutting outcrops of rock and magic-stained rivers, their waters sluggish and black, crisscross the ice fields, carving elaborate canyons and deep ravines in the frozen ground.

For long ages of the world, the mysterious continent of Lustria has remained hidden to outsiders. This is not by accident or by some geographical oddity, but rather by strongly maintained magical wards, enchantments which disorient intruders.

Itza, the First City is the greatest of the surviving Temple-Cities and it is home to the most powerful and ancient practitioners of magic to be found anywhere in the world. Foremost amongst them is the venerable Relic Priest, Lord Kroak.

"Now that I have seen Lustria with my own eyes I believe the tales are true - both of the gold that can be pried out of every ruin, and also of the denizens of that cursed land. Lizardmen, savage in deed and heart." - Vincenzo Corenzo of Tilea
